Among the first musicians known to have performed a live rendition of Iwatsuki's music with acoustic instruments is the Brazilian game cover band 8 Bit Instrumental. A medley of three songs from the Super Nintendo title Wild Guns appeared on their 2007 album "Altered Bit." The album, a play on the classic Sega sidescroller Altered Beast, is available as a free download on the band's official site.
8 Bit Instrumental got its start when guitarists André and Rodrigo met in college and discovered a common appreciation for videogame music. Brothers Luciano de Oliveira Marques and Moisés de Oliveira Marques Filho later joined in the summer of 2006. Their first album was called "The Song Remains the Game," a riff on the similarly titled Led Zeppelin album, and was produced independently in November of 2006.
Shortly after the release of Altered Bit, game composer Tommy Tallarico discovered the band on YouTube and invited the musicians to perform at Video Games Live during the concert series' South American tour. A video is posted online of their Metroid and Street Fighter II covers from the tour. There followed a Mega Man 2 tribute album, whose cover art was supplied by the winner of an online contest, as well as "The Number of the Bit," named by members of the band’s orkut community.
8-Bit Instrumental was among the first artists to contribute to the IWADON compilation, attributable both to the unprecedented status of their Wild Guns arrangement and their history of collaboration with Game Music 4 All. Their music was included in anniversary album "Welcome to World 2," while band members have also written vocal songs as the group "Chiptots" that have been included in GM4A compilations
Last year 8 Bit Instrumental released its first full album of original music, entitied "Extended Pixels: More Music From Lobei." "Spaghetti and Guns" draws from the rich cinematic history of the Spaghetti Westerns directed by Sergio Leone, scored by composer Ennio Morricone. The Westerns that informed Iwatsuki's soundtrack to Wild Guns were the source of inspiration to numerous other videogames during the era of CD-quality audio that succeeded the 16-bit Super Nintendo.

アコースティック楽器による演奏で岩月氏の音楽をライブパフォーマンスした最初のアーティストとして知られているうちの一組がブラジルのカバーバンド8 Bit Instrumentalだ。スーパーファミコンのゲーム『ワイルドガンズ』からの３曲をメドレーにしたものが彼らの２００７年のアルバム"Altered Bit"に収録されている。セガのサイドスクローラー”Altered Beast"をもじったアルバムはバンドの公式サイトにて無料ダウンロードが可能だ。
