Andreas Paleologos is an animator who creates music under the name Cuckoo. Based in Oslo, Norway, the artist makes club-friendly electronic pop music and published his first full album recently on the Impeller Recordings label. Called "Ringalingading," the twelve-track album is available internationally on iTunes.
Cuckoo's first game cover came in February of 2009, a Mega Man 2 remix of Flash Man's stage music. Part of a music video that included his own animations, the movie depicted the artist dancing in the background of several of the game's Robot Master stages. Around the same time, Cuckoo started a podcast series on the making of retro game music, describing the techniques employed by 8-bit era chip musicians like Hiroyuki Iwatsuki. In 2009 Cuckoo teamed with Swedish iPhone game developer Bambalam to create soundtracks for their growing library of iPhone games.
Beginning with the video "Chipsounds Live," Cuckoo began demoing Plogue's Chipsounds plugin tools, which allow musicians to create authentic sounding chip music on personal computers. The live online edition of the Ringalingading track "Lady Cheri" was performed with Chipsounds as the sound source and Ableton Live 8 Looper, controlled with the Evolution e-keys and nanoKONTROL.
"We Got (chip) Love" is inspired by Iwatsuki's Stage 1-2 theme from Japan-only Famicom sidescroller Mitsume ga Tooru. The pop vocal track is thematically linked to the 8-bit Famicom game by the use of the Plogue chip music plugin, while the lyrics reflect the ambitions of the IWADON compilation in sharing love for classic videogame music.

アンドレアス・パレオロゴスはCuckooとして音楽制作にも携わっているアニメーターである。ノルウェーのオスロを機転にクラブ向けのエレクトロニックポップミュージックを作っており、最近ではレーベルのインペラー・レコーディングスからファーストアルバムをリリース。アルバム、リンガリンガディングはiTunes上から世界に向け配信中である。
Cuckooが最初にゲームの曲をカバーしたのは２００９年の２月で、ロックマン２ Drワイリーの謎のフラッシュマンステージの曲のリミックスだった。彼のアニメーションも見ることができるそのミュージックビデオでは彼がロボットマスター(ボスキャラ)のステージのバックグラウンドで踊っているシーンを見ることができる。
同じ時期にレトロゲームの音楽制作についてのポッドキャストシリーズをスタート。２００９年には、スウェーデンのiPhoneゲーム開発者Bambalamとチームを組み、増加過程にある彼らのiPhone用ゲームの為のサントラを作リ始める。
チップサウンド・ライブのビデオをきっかけに、Cuckooはパソコンで本来のチップサンドがつくれるPlogueによるプラグインを使用開始。ライブバージョンのリンガリンガディングからの曲"Lady Cheri"はチップサウンドを音源として演奏されており、Ableton Live 8のルーパーをエボルーションのe-keysとコルグのナノコントロールで操作している。
We Got (chip) Loveは岩月氏のサイドスクローラーファミコンゲーム”三つ目がとおる”の第１第２ステージのテーマ曲に影響を受けた曲である。歌部分はPlogueのチップ音源のプラグインを使うことで、8bitのファミコンゲームにテーマ的につながる物であり、また一方で詞の内容はイワドンコンピレーションの熱い意志を反映し、クラシックゲーム音楽への愛情を分かち合うものになっている。
