Unlike fan arrangement in the West, the internet tends not to serve as a primary medium for sharing covers of game soundtracks in Japan. By contrast, cover bands frequently schedule releases of pressed albums for hobbyist gatherings that meet once or twice a year.
Over the course of its three-day run, the Comic Market event attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over Japan to meet with hobbyists and aspiring artists selling homemade collectibles, which range from poetry collections to manga and music CDs. The Music MediaMix Market exists as a more intimate get-together, focused entirely on music creation.
Nijeil of the circle earth Japan has served as the primary arranger and performer on the album eJ Best of Nijeil Works. The collection, which brought together remastered music from the artist's previous albums, includes renditions of music from Ys, Super R-Type and Castlevania: Rondo of Blood.
The artist's F-ZERO The Graded Driver 2201 premiered at the 2009 Winter Comic Market 77 event, centering on rock covers of music from Super Nintendo racer F-Zero. A cross-fade sample can be found on the album's official site.
The IWADON Tribute Album marks a concerted effort on the part of Game Music 4 All to collaborate with game cover circles in Japan. "Eye of the Flame" is one such example, a guitar rock arrangement by Nijeil of the Stage 5-3 theme from Mitsume ga Tooru.

西欧のファンによるアレンジとは違い、日本ではインターネットはゲームのサントラのカバーを皆とシェアする主力の媒体とはまだなり得ていないところがあり、代わりに、カバーバンド等が定期的に１年に１、２度行われる同じ趣味を持った人達が集まるイベント等用にアルバムをリリースしたりしている。
３日間に渡って行われるコミックマーケットには日本中から何十万人という人々が訪れ、ホビーストやアマチュアのアーティスト等と触れ合い、その彼らは自分達で作った収集品、詩集や漫画、またCD等をその場で売っている。Music MediaMix Marketはさらに密な集まりで、音楽制作のみに集中して行われているイベントである。
NijeilはアルバムeJ Best of Nijeil Worksでのメインアレンジャーであり、パフォーマーである。このアルバムはアーティストの以前のアルバムからの曲をリマスターし集めた物で、『Ys』『Super R-Type』や『悪魔城ドラキュラX 血の輪廻』等からの楽曲を含む。 また『F-ZERO The Graded Driver 2201』も２００９年冬のコミックマーケット77にて発表された。スーパーファミコンのレースゲーム『F-Zero』からの音楽をロック調にカバーしたものであり、サンプルがアルバムの公式サイトにて視聴可能である。
IWADONトリビュートアルバムはGame Music 4 Allが日本のゲームカバーサークルとのコラボを実現しようとした努力の結果を体現するものであり、"Eye of the Flame"はまさにその一つの例で、ゲーム『三つ目がとおる』からのステージ5-3のテーマ曲をNijeilがギターロック調にアレンジしたものである。
